About Josh
I’ve been involved with the Anchorage community since my youth (Commonwealth North internship, Boy Scouts, Rock the Vote, Blood Bank of Alaska, speech & debate). My Montana experiences include participation in a governor’s task force on methamphetamine abuse and the Gallatin Valley Human Rights Task Force; as well as conducting diversity training for MSU Residence Life. I recently had the opportunity to participate in the 2009 Spring Emerging Leaders Dialogue, where I met, networked with, and learned from a dynamic group of young Alaskan leaders. With other Dialogue participants, I created a Facebook group and have actively maintained statewide online connections. More recently, I began blogging on social media’s potential as a leadership platform for Alaska.
I have a wide variety of perspectives that enable me to contribute to a group of young leaders, but I also appreciate the opportunity to learn from veteran leaders’ experiences. My degree in Community Health (Spring 2010) and background in graphic design and journalism enable me to effect change within a community by using multiple modes of communication.
